Every NEY Studio piece starts with curiosity.
The Triangle Bag is no exception.
In January 2025, I started experimenting with T-shirt yarn for the first time. I was immediately drawn to it, not only because it’s made from reclaimed materials, but because of how strong it feels. Unlike traditional yarns, T-shirt yarn allowed me to create pieces that could actually hold their shape. That opened a whole new world of possibilities.
Naturally, I started to experiment.
I played with different forms, pushing the material to see what it could do. Some designs worked, others didn’t. But each prototype taught me something new.
Eventually, one shape kept coming back.
The triangle.
It felt bold and modern, but also soft and wearable. From there, the idea evolved into something more than just a shape. I wanted to design a bag that wasn’t limited to one way of wearing it. Something flexible. Something that moves with you.
Throughout the summer, I kept refining the design. The biggest challenge was finding the right balance in thickness and structure. At times the bag felt too floppy, other times too chunky. After weeks of adjusting, testing and reworking ,I achieved a structure that felt right: sturdy, but still comfortable to wear.
That’s how the Triangle Bag was born.
The name has a double meaning:

Triangle, because of its distinctive geometric shape

And Triangle, because it can be worn in three different ways
Depending on your mood, outfit or moment, the bag can be styled to fit you, not the other way around.
The Triangle Bag came out of experimentation and curiosity, shaped by the material and the process itself. A piece designed with intention, meant to be worn in a way that feels right to you.
